The Silverstone Stormtrooper Helmet

£4,500.00

Artist: Rick Jesse

The Silverstone Stormtrooper Helmet transforms the iconic helmet into a striking canvas, continuing Rick Jesse’s practice of using form as a foundation for storytelling. The contours and geometry of the helmet guide the artwork, with every curve and panel contributing to the composition. Within its intricate lines lie hidden moments that celebrate British motorsport history, like Lewis Hamilton’s British Grand Prix victories in 2008 and 2016, Ayrton Senna’s memorable ride on the sidepod of Nigel Mansell’s Williams, and the British Grand Prix trophy, among many other scenes. Together, these fragments of time create a layered visual that fuses pop culture with the legacy of Silverstone and Formula 1.

Rick Jesse, known as MrDogtooth on Instagram, is a graphic designer and artist whose work bridges traditional drawing and contemporary design. After more than 30 years working on the Apple Mac within the design industry, Rick rekindled his long-held passion for hand drawing, this time exploring it on unconventional 3D surfaces as well as 2D.

He is best known for his self-described "scratchy-line-work" style, where intricate illustrations and hidden details are woven into the flowing lines of each piece. This signature approach transforms familiar objects into storytelling canvases, inviting the viewer to look closer and discover the layers within.

Alongside his 3D work, Rick Jesse also enjoys creating 2D pieces. This collection of Porsche-inspired prints places the legendary silhouette of the Porsche 911 Turbo at its heart, allowing the form to guide the storytelling. Every contour, every panel and every fine line contributes to the visual narrative. Within the illustration you’ll discover subtle nods to automotive culture, heritage Porsche details, pop-culture references and hidden icons that reward close inspection.
