Biography
Born in Italy in 1980, Matteo Macchiavelli’s creative journey has been one of constant evolution, bridging the worlds of art, design, and innovation. Though his early studies were rooted in Economics, his eye for aesthetics and detail soon drew him toward creative expression. In 2003, Matteo moved to Los Angeles to study Sport & Management at UCLA, where his exposure to West Coast culture, design, and technology profoundly influenced his creative outlook.
Upon returning to Italy in 2007, Matteo founded the fashion label Macchia J, a bold venture that quickly gained international recognition for its innovative approach to Italian craftsmanship. The brand became synonymous with individuality, modern style, and artistic collaboration, partnering with icons such as Superga, Marvel, and Porsche. Through these experiences, Matteo honed his ability to merge storytelling with design, translating ideas into powerful visual forms that resonated across cultures.
By 2019, Matteo’s creative focus shifted decisively toward fine art. His transition marked the beginning of a new chapter, one that allowed him to explore his passion for colour, texture, and movement on canvas. His paintings often blend abstraction with emotional narrative, drawing inspiration from nature, motion, and the interplay between technology and human experience. Each piece captures a balance between freedom and precision, revealing the same meticulous attention to form that once defined his design career.
Beyond the canvas, Matteo’s artistic expression extends into interior and experiential design. He created the distinctive M House Hotel concept, a boutique space where art, architecture, and atmosphere converge. He also founded Nextcoure Technology, a pioneering platform that integrates 3D and holographic elements into fashion and luxury design, showcasing his ongoing commitment to pushing creative and technological boundaries.
In 2022, Matteo unveiled one of his most celebrated works, “Senna Now”, a tribute to the legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna. The project involved transforming a real F1 car into a large-scale painted sculpture, symbolising speed, legacy, and innovation. The piece was later sold at auction by F1 Authentics during the Monaco Grand Prix, cementing Matteo’s status as an artist capable of uniting motorsport heritage with fine-art sensibility.
Today, Matteo Macchiavelli continues to blur the lines between art, design, and technology. His work, whether displayed on canvas, in curated spaces, or through digital mediums, embodies a philosophy of constant reinvention. Each creation invites viewers to experience beauty through motion, emotion, and imagination, celebrating the power of art to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
