Richard Neergaard is a London-based automotive artist whose work transforms the history, performance, and soul of race cars, classics, and exotics into evocative fine art. Trained at Central Saint Martins (UAL), The Art Academy London, and Otis College in Los Angeles, and with academic credentials in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University, Neergaard bridges the worlds of engineering, commerce, and craft.

His signature pieces start life as salvaged car parts: aluminium panels that are laser-cut, CNC-bent, anodised, and overlaid with high-resolution automobile photography. These are laminated, precisely shaped, and mounted on high-gloss acrylic backings, creating bold sculptural works that challenge perceptions of automotive heritage and industrial material. Beyond this, he paints on car parts and sometimes repurposes unexpected elements (for example, vintage horns sculpted into a floral bouquet) to explore nostalgia, memory, and the unexpected poetry of machinery.

Neergaard’s art has been exhibited at institutions such as the British Motor Museum, the Los Angeles Driving Museum, Jaguar Heritage Trust Museum, and motorsport-linked galleries including Williams F1 and McLaren F1. His work has also appeared in elite art and auction-house venues like Sotheby’s London, Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace, and Bonhams Aston Martin Classics Auction.
